Hi and welcome!

I'm Defne, a Clinical Psychologist who has worked many years in private practice supporting people in their recovery journey. I am dedicated to providing a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space for people to feel open and comfortable in seeking support.

I have worked in a range of services in the past across child, youth and adult programs, inpatient and outpatient settings, within both the private and public sectors. I have also held past research positions leading to publications in a range of peer-reviewed journals.

Example of psychological symptoms I commonly treat:

  • Anxiety (e.g., phobias, panic attacks & generalised anxiety)

  • Depression & mood issues

  • Eating disorders, disordered eating and body image issues

  • Grief & loss

  • Life transitions and adjustment issues

  • Low self-esteem

  • Pre- and post pregnancy mental health

  • Relationship and attachment related difficulties

  • Stress & difficulties coping

  • Trauma and post-traumatic stress

Example of treatment commonly adopted:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy - Enhanced (CBT-E; i.e., eating disorders treatment)

  • Schema Therapy

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy

I am also a qualified supervisor and provide formal supervision to psychology students or registered psychologists.
